Mahler and the Philharmonia

As regular readers may recall, I have reservations concerning the present Mahler anniversary goings-on. However, for those less jaded than I, there remains a great deal to enjoy this year. The Philharmonia Orchestra is about to launch its symphony cycle under the baton of Lorin Maazel. Going beyond the concerts themselves, the Philharmonia has also launched a Mahler mini-site (click here), replete with interviews and a splendid collection of programme notes from Julian Johnson.
